B7 Flight Control Grip

The B-7 Grip represents the basic aircraft control grip style. The single-piece molded design gives the B-7 control grip exceptional strength, while allowing simplified switch replacement over the life of the grip. This proven grip places up to two switches, as well as a single or two-stage trigger in an ergonomic position for the right hand. This compact grip has been in many aircraft, from the Vought Corsair through current production of helicopters / kit-planes in Europe and the United States.

Black handheld ergonomic spraying tools for industrial applications.

The B‑7 started life in the WWII era as the control grip used on aircraft like the Vought F4U Corsair—simple, rugged, and serviceable in the field. Its one-piece molded body and easy switch/trigger swaps made it a go‑to standard that manufacturers kept reusing and refining for decades. Today, that same proven architecture shows up in modern helicopters and kit planes, proving the B‑7’s design still hits the sweet spot of durability and ergonomics.

B8 / MC-2 Flight Control Grip

The B‑8 / MC‑2 is one of the most widely adopted control grips in aviation – built on a single‑piece, high‑strength CAB polymer body that shrugs off abuse while making switch servicing straightforward. Ergonomic contours put up to five switches (four pushbuttons/trim plus a single‑ or two‑stage trigger) exactly where a pilot’s right hand expects them, cutting fatigue and shaving milliseconds off function changes. Qualified to MIL‑DTL‑22561 and compliant with applicable MIL‑Specs, the B‑8 / MC‑2 delivers a proven, certifiable platform for new aircraft programs and retrofit projects alike.

Originally developed as an evolution of early post‑war grip styles, the B‑8/MC‑2 gained popularity because it offered a rugged, easily maintainable alternative to metal multi‑piece grips. It saw service on platforms ranging from fixed‑wing attack aircraft like the A‑10 to rotary‑wing aircraft produced across the U.S. and Europe. Its success came from a simple formula: a durable molded shell, modular switch pockets, and a form factor pilots immediately felt at home with. Decades later, that same formula still underpins new integrations, simulators, and industrial control applications.

COBRA Flight Control Grip

The Cobra Grip is a two‑piece, right‑hand control grip built for fast field service and dense switch layouts. Its CAB (cellulose acetate butyrate) molded construction delivers strength while letting technicians replace or reconfigure switches without tearing the whole assembly apart. The ergonomic profile supports up to six controls—typically four pushbuttons, one 4‑way hat, and a single‑ or two‑stage trigger—positioned for minimal reach and maximum tactile feedback. Connector‑base or flying‑lead wiring options make integration straightforward.

Helicopter OEMs quickly adopted the Cobra Grip more than three decades ago because it solved two persistent problems: cramped switch real estate and time‑consuming maintenance. The two‑piece shell let crews pop the grip open to service a failed switch in minutes, and the expanded layout brought more flight systems onto the stick-everything from cursor control to cargo release. That combination of flexibility and repairability kept the Cobra in continuous production and retrofit programs ever since.

LOH Flight Control Grip

The LOH Helicopter Control Grip expands the switch capacity of our proven B-8 and Cobra families, giving helicopter pilots more fingertip functions without increasing cockpit clutter. A one-piece, right-hand shell molded from rugged cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB) houses up to seven switches – including 4-way trim, push-buttons, NVG rocker and dual-stage trigger – while optional blanking plugs keep unused stations smooth and sealed. The ergonomic contour reduces wrist fatigue and shortens reaction time between critical inputs, and every grip is delivered pre-wired (60 in flying leads) or with a MIL-spec connector for plug-and-play integration.

Originally developed for the Light Observation Helicopter (LOH) program that produced the OH-6 Cayuse, this grip was engineered to carry more avionics and weapon-system controls than earlier cyclic grips. Its success led to widespread adoption on derivative scout and utility helicopters as well as ground-based remote-handling equipment. Today the design continues to evolve with new switch modules, laser-engraved legends and composite color options, serving both aerospace OEMs and off-highway machinery manufacturers.
