Latching Solenoids (DC) — No-Power Hold, Reverse-Polarity Release

Guardian’s DC latching solenoids provide bistable actuation that holds position with zero continuous power, reducing heat and energy draw in battery-powered or always-on equipment. The plunger seats to the pole face at a specified holding force and stays latched through power interruptions; reverse the polarity to release. Standard units are UL Recognized and RoHS-compliant (2011/65/EU), with rapid customization for voltages, plungers, mounting, terminations, and value-added packages. 100% Made in the USA.

Continuous duty ratings indicate the force a solenoid can maintain indefinitely without overheating. Intermittent duty ratings show peak force for short activation periods (typically 10% duty cycle or less).

Absolutely. Our engineering team provides detailed FEA modeling and custom force-stroke curves for all applications, ensuring optimal performance for your specific requirements.

Standard prototypes ship in 2-3 weeks. Custom prototypes require 4-6 weeks. Production quantities depend on volume but typically 6-12 weeks for quantities over 100 units.

Yes, we offer biocompatible materials, low-outgassing components, and can provide material certifications for medical device applications. USP Class VI materials available upon request.
